Underwriters Laboratories Information (UL)
All Irrigation Craft products are Listed by Underwriters Laboratories (UL).
There are two UL Listings that apply to pump stations as described below:
UL 508A - "Enclosed Industrial Control Panel"
Irrigation Craft file number for UL 508A is: E143693
All control panels are Listed under the UL 508A program. This program is an engineering agreement between Irrigation Craft and Underwriters Laboratories whereby Irrigation Craft agrees to build panels conforming to UL 508A standards for control panel design and production. Underwriters Laboratories regularly inspects Irrigation Craft facilities and products to ensure compliance to 508A.
UL QCZJ - "Packaged Pumping System"

"Packaged Pumping Systems for Canada"
Irrigation Craft file number for UL QCZJ-7 is: E208950
All pump stations are Listed under the UL QCZJ program. This program is an engineering agreement whereby Irrigation Craft agrees to build complete pump stations to the UL QCZJ & QCZJ-7 programs. UL regularly inspects Irrigation Craft facilities and products to ensure compliance with QCZJ and QCZJ-7. (Note: QCZJ-7 is the Canadian program).
Irrigation Craft provides full UL Listings on every pump station
Equipment Specifiers should be careful that the equipment they are specifying is UL Listed. Some manufacturers have UL 508A and UL QCZJ capability but do not List all their equipment. If the manufacturer does not put a UL Listing Label on the equipment, that equipment is not UL Listed. Read the notice at the bottom of this page to learn more about this.
The NEC® (National Electrical Code), the Florida Building Code, and most or all local codes require the entire pump station to be UL listed, not just the control panel. Therefore Irrigation Craft believes the only correct policy is to UL list every pump station as a standard feature.
When you specify or purchase a pump station, please demand the UL QCZJ listing
Notes
UL 508A governs the construction of control panels. The program is titled: Enclosed Industrial Control Panels or Industrial Control Panels
UL-QCZJ & QCZJ govern the manufacture of pump stations. The program is titled: Packaged Pumping Systems
To obtain QCZJ or QCZJ-7 Listing the control panel must have the 508A Listing.
NOTICE ABOUT LISTING LABELS
UL says it very simply, NOT MARKED - NOT LISTED
UL does not require a manufacturer to list all their products, or even one of their products. All that UL requires is that every product bearing the UL Listing Mark must be built to the UL Requirements. It is therefore up to the consumer to make sure the product is Marked.
These are the two statements from UL on this issue:
The appearance of a company's name or product in this database does not in itself assure that products so identified have been manufactured under UL's Follow-Up Service. Only those products bearing the UL Mark should be considered to be Listed and covered under UL's Follow-Up Service. Always look for the Mark on the product.
Another quotation from UL:
Only those products bearing the appropriate UL Mark and the company's name, trade name, trademark or other authorized identification should be considered as being covered by ULs Listing or Classification and Follow Up Service.
