Shadow
Pump Stations
Description
 |
All equipment is mounted on an
aluminum skid and protected by the Shadow Enclosure System. |
 |
All equipment contained within the
enclosure is resistant to the weather and can be located outdoors without damage to the
components. The equipment resists rain, wind driven rain, and sprayed
water. The enclosure is not required to protect the
equipment against water or weather, but the enclosure adds additional
resistance to the elements. |
 | The Shadow Enclosure system has many
desirable features and advantages over fiberglass and other types of enclosures. Irrigation
Craft pioneered fiberglass enclosures in the 1980s, and many companies copied
our product. Irrigation Craft no longer builds fiberglass enclosures
because we developed the Shadow
Enclosure System which is superior to fiberglass. |

Shadow Pump Station Features
UL® Listed
as a "Packaged
Pumping System"
All Irrigation Craft pump stations are
listed under UL
QCZJ - "Packaged Pumping Systems". Check out the competition, do
they state that ALL their stations are UL®
listed? If not, ask them why.
The engineer can design the pump station or allow Irrigation Craft to
design the pump station. Either way, Irrigation Craft will list the
entire pump station with Underwriters Laboratories as a Packaged Pumping
System.

Resistant to
Dust and Sprayed Water
 |
The electrical control panel is built into a NEMA 4X rated electrical enclosure. NEMA 4 means that Underwriters Laboratories has
tested the equipment to verify that directed sprayed water will not penetrate
the electrical enclosure. The X means that the equipment is resistant to corrosion.
|
 |
The NEMA 4 rating
is not only an indication of resistance to sprayed water, but vermin such as
insects cannot enter the equipment.
|
 |
All pump motors
are TEFC (Totally Enclosed Fan Cooled). Follow the link below to learn
more about TEFC motors.

Controls
 |
Clock Demand |
 |
Pressure Demand
- (Pressure On/Flow Off), High Side Monitoring |
 | Hybrid - Low pressure at all times, high
pressure on Clock Demand. This option is selected for special
applications such as older PVC pipe systems, Large systems, systems with large
elevation changes, systems supplied from expensive water sources (Caribbean
Islands, South & Central America). |

Other Options
 | Irrigation Controllers - As required by
specifier or owner. Controllers are pre-wired to the field and supplied
with surge protected power source in the station control panel. |
 |
Flow Meter
- Standard meter is SeaMetrics turbine with Ruby Bearings, digital indication
of flow rate, flow total, and outputs for central controls and automation
systems. Optional Insertion Magnetic Flow Meter is available. |
 | Chemical Injection - Includes injection pump
and chemical storage tank, all enclosed by the Shadow enclosure system. |

Additional Features &
Advantages
-
UL®
Listed Control Panel - All Irrigation Craft control panels are UL
Listed under UL 508A - Enclosed Industrial Control Panels.
-
High Side Monitoring - Every
Shadow pump equipped with a pressure control valve and operated as a Pressure
On / Flow Off system includes High Side Monitoring to maintain a steady
and even pressure on the PVC Plastic mainline to prevent pressure cycling,
which is the leading cause of PVC mainline failures.
-
Fuseless - All Irrigation Craft
pump stations and control panels are fuseless. Circuit breakers only are
used.
