NEMA 4X is built with corrosion resistant materials
Our NEMA 4X panel has a silicone door gasket. Silicone gaskets are impervious to: salt air, high humidity, and high temperatures developed by the electrical equipment. Other manufacturers use foam rubber with adhesive backing that "melts" when exposed to moderate heat, becomes sticky when exposed to salt air, and absorbs and holds humidity.
| PLC - The PLC (programmable logic controller) is the brain of the pump station. Irrigation Craft has a valuable and unique feature that no other manufacturer has (the we know of), a fast change PLC. The customer can change the PLC in 30 seconds with no tools required. Our competitors PLCs require skilled technicians to work carefully disconnecting & reconnecting each of the wires (15 to 100 wires or more). |
| Isolation Transformer All control power is obtained from an isolation transformer. By not using direct incoming power to supply sensitive controls Irrigation Craft adds one more layer of protection against incoming power surges. |
| Low Voltage Controls All adjustable sensors inside the control panel, all door mounted controls, and all sensors outside the control panel are powered by less than 30 volts. This makes adjustments safe and easy. Our competitors require adjustments be made with your fingers close to high voltage. |
| Cage-Clamp Terminals All terminals for outside wiring are the cage clamp type, no screw terminals are used. Cage Clamp terminals replaced all the terminals at the Space Port (Cape Kennedy), and for good reason, they get tighter over time, not looser as with screw terminals. |
| LED Pilot Lamps All pilot lamps are 24 volt LED type lamps. The rated life of these LED lamps is 100,000 hours (as opposed to 2,000 hours for incandescent). LED lamps are also vibration resistant whereas incandescent lamps are easily damaged by vibration when the lamp is on. |
| Square D Disconnect All door handle disconnects (large black handle on the outside of the control panel that disconnects the power to the station) are Square D. Irrigation Craft has found over the years that ALL other door handles are prone to problems such as doors that will not open or close properly, and damaged mechanisms that fail and then this major safety feature will not work properly. Irrigation Craft has spent hundreds of hours researching door handle disconnects and we have not found an equal to the Square D. |
