The impeller shown above was in service for approximately 4 years.

This was a closed impeller, but as you can see, the front vane shroud is missing.

The system owner maintained the system and only called Irrigation Craft when they could not solve a low pressure problem.  The Irrigation Craft dealer replaced the impeller and then brought the old impeller to Irrigation Craft for assistance in diagnosing the cause of the problem to protect the new impeller.  After installation of the new impeller no cavitation was audible, the intake line was checked and no problems were found, and the pressure and flow was of course restored.  NPSH calculations were done and there was no problem there, and no cavitation sounds could be heard.
